Job Position: Site Manager

Job Location: Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary


  • The Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of construction site activities.
  • The successful candidate will supervise site personnel, coordinate contractors and consultants, monitor project progress, ensure compliance with drawings and specifications, and maintain high standards of quality, health, safety, and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily construction activities on assigned project sites.
  • Supervise site workers, subcontractors, artisans, and other site personnel.
  • Ensure construction work is carried out according to approved architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and project documents and communicate requirements effectively to site teams.
  • Monitor project progress against agreed schedules and provide regular progress updates.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, consultants, contractors, and clients where required.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify quality issues, defects, delays, and potential risks.
  • Ensure materials delivered to site meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor the use, storage, and availability of construction materials and equipment.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions across the site.
  • Enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and site regulations.
  • Identify and promptly escalate technical, operational, or construction-related challenges.
  • Maintain accurate daily site reports, records, photographs, and documentation of project activities.
  • Track manpower, materials, equipment, and work progress on site.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Ensure work is executed within approved budgets, timelines, quality standards, and project specifications.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings and site briefings where necessary.
  • Assist with inspections, snagging, rectification, and project handover activities.
  • Perform other site-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in site management, construction supervision, or project execution.
  • Proven experience managing construction or building projects from commencement through completion.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, drawings, and site procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Good knowledge of construction health and safety practices.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency in relevant construction/project management and reporting tools is an advantage.
  • Professional certifications or membership of relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
